My works are abstract, composed of bold shapes that evoke spatial and figural inferences. I am concerned for the physical materiality of my medium and I manipulate texture as well as color in their composition. As with Haiku poetry where the reader contributes some significant portion of the meaning to the work, my paintings aspire to the same essence - to make a journey for thew mind, taking one to a desired place but not confining one there.
